Thilini originally from Sri Lanka has studied a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communication from Monash University. She also holds Postgraduate Diploma in Education specialising in Early Childhood Education from Edith Cowan University. During her time in Perth she has worked as a 3+ Kindergarten Teacher at Community Kindergarten. She then worked for the Smith Family at a Child and Parent Centre. She facilitated a transition program for children and parents in disadvantaged communities to transition 3 year old’s into 4 year old Kindergarten whilst building capabilities in parents to support their children through this process.
In 2018 she moved to Paraburdoo to teach at the primary school and has taught across Kindergarten to Year 6 in her time there. Her partner ‘s work allowed her to move to Karratha and work for Patches Paediatrics. Thilini’s passions lie in teaching early literacy skills and providing intervention in order to help children reach their full potential in all areas of reading and writing. She has experience in Diana Rigg phonics program, Letters and Sounds phonics program, Talk for writing and Let’s Read program.
When Thilini isn’t working she loves to read, blog, play with her two dogs and explore the beautiful Dampier archipelago.
