Primary Aims

Our primary aims are to:

  • Place the child and family at the centre of the health and education systems – ensuring that the majority of communication and activity is directed their way.
  • Coordinate all of the health professionals who are involved in a child’s life.
  • Integrate the child’s health professionals with the child’s educational environment.
  • Develop sensible, useful and realistic goals for the child’s health, school and home environments.
  • Ensure that these goals are worked toward by actively delivering therapies and support.

If we achieve these aims we expect:

  • Parents and children will find health services more acceptable.
  • Parents and children will find health services more accessible.
  • Health and education professionals will work better together, with greater efficiency.
  • Children will receive the therapies that are recommended for them.
  • Health, development and education outcomes will improve for children.
